The son of a successful offshore powerboat racer, Felix got the racing bug in a kart age seven, and won his first race in 2001. He won the Caribbean Karting Championship with the Fittipaldi team in 2002 and ’03.
After a couple of years away from the track to concentrate on his studies, Serralles switched to car racing in 2007 and the Skip Barber regional series in the USA. In 2009 he won the Skip Barber Shootout and a full season of competition for the following year. Third place overall in the championship propelled him to Europe for 2011 and the Fortec team, with whom he contested Formula Renault.
