Started in cadet karts in Brazil at age eight; many championship wins in cadets and juniors led to a couple of Formula BMW Americas outings in 2008 and on to Formula BMW Europe in 2009, which he won outright with seven race wins from 16 races. Also won two Formula BMW Pacific races in 2009. Maiden British Formula 3 season in 2010 with Raikkonen Robertson brought one race win, at Rockingham, and championship fifth
