Karting successes from the age of 11 led Alex to car racing in 2009, and the Fortec Motorsport team, with whom he has enjoyed a long relationship. Tenth place in the Formula Renault Winter Cup that season was followed by victory in the UK Formula Renault Graduate Cup the following year.

Twelve race wins in Formula Renault brought Lynn and Fortec the UK championship title in 2011, and a place in the McLaren Autosport BRDC Awards finals. MSA Team UK member and BRDC SuperStar.
